Dr. Robert Gillio, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at The Force for Health® Network, partnered with student teams from Loyalist College and other institutions through Riipen to create health education tools. Through this collaboration, students developed interactive games and 3D animations, gaining valuable technical and creative skills. For Dr. Gillio, Riipen has become a powerful way to scale innovation and support emerging talent in global health education.
Jake Armour, Instructor in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, used Riipen to connect students in his online Violent Earth course with real-world environmental challenges. Students worked on projects such as wildfire evacuation planning and tsunami risk assessments for cities, including Seattle and San Francisco. By replacing traditional exams with applied research, Jake’s course highlights how experiential learning can thrive in online settings.
